Burj Dubai is going to be the tallest man made structure in Dubai as well as the tallest building in the world with 200 stories and height of 2625 feet or 800 meters; however the exact height the tower is still being kept a secret. Still under construction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates Burj Dubai is expected to reach completion in late 2008 and it will be ready for occupancy by 2009 September. This Burj Dubai Tower is a part of 2km² development ‘Downtown Dubai’ and located at the first interchange also known as defense roundabout along the Sheikh Zayed Road at Doha Street in Dubai.
Burj Dubai is a part of 500 acre master development plan that includes Burj Dubai, the Residences and other grand buildings and places of attraction as a part of Downtown Burj Dubai. Downtown Dubai is a new area still underdevelopment, offering a luxurious and magical lifestyle to those coming here along with a wonderful view of Burj Dubai Tower, estimated to be the world’s tallest building.
The tower will mostly consist of residential apartments and the highest residential floor with be 109th level. Along with this, it will also offer the world’s highest observation deck at a vertigo inducing the height of 517 meters on the 124th floor. Along with this, Burj Dubai Tower will also be home to:

This iconic centerpiece of Downtown Dubai is being built in form of a tapering three winged tower that is going to make use of 280,000 million tones of concrete and rise up to 162 floors. The design of the tower is triple-lobed footprint that is based on an abstracted native desert flower. To give this massive structure more weight and stability, the tower will be framed with over 0.5 million tones of steel in the equipment floors and the spire from the 15th floor onwards.
The layout of this tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the renowned designers who also designed the Sears Tower of Chicago as well as the Freedom Tower of New York among various other high rise buildings. The construction of the tower has been given to Samsung Engineering and Construction and they are estimated to finish by end of the year 2008. The work is going round the clock so that the work can be finished on time. More than 3,500 laborers have been hired who are working day and night to reach their target.
